Taking a look at 2015
Looking back at 2014 on the web and in the office while looking forward to 2015 to see what it'll be bringing.
INK
2014 was a good year for me. I completed the first year of my apprenticeship at CBA where I’ve learnt a lot about working in an office as well as the world of IT—servers, networks and pretty much anything that can go wrong (which is a lot).
The past year has also marked the end of the first year of my time developing for the web. I’ve learnt a lot there too, just take a look at the website you’re reading this post on now. It’s bloody beautiful—if I may say so myself—and it is far better than the ghastly stuff I created when I first started on the web.
My skillset for the web has grown vastly during 2014 and I can now develop stuff that looks half-decent.
Taking a look forward to 2015, I can see it is going to be a good year. I already have a few holidays planned, including one to Tenerife with my other half and I will also be having my first trip to Disneyland Paris.
In the world of work, the company I am currently working with is merging with another meaning a change of office and far too much work for me over the next three or four months (the joys of being the IT guy!).
When it comes to the web, I’m pushing my skillset even further by doing 52 weeks of code, producing a new project every week—be it a plugin, a full website or a Ghost theme. It starts on Monday, 5th January and you can follow it on twitter via @52weeksofcode or view all the projects on 52weeksofcode.com.
Here’s to 2015, which should be a great year and here’s hoping it is a great one for you.
