A Time of Change

It’s been just over a year now since I started developing for the web (and I’ll be writing about that soon) and so I’ve decided to have a refresh of my online brand and personality. Up until very recently, I’ve been using the username symphaticidiot for pretty much everything from my Twitter account to my EE account and that’s been great.

Symphaticidiot is a pretty good username, it’s unique—considering I just went ahead and made the word symphatic up—so the availability of it is pretty much guaranteed. However, if you try and search for it on google, you get asked if you’re actually searching for symphathetic idiot and let’s be honest here, I’m really not that symphathetic.

That’s always been a problem and now it is going to be resolved with my online refresher. I’ve not decided where I’m going with my online brand & personality but my username will most likely incorporate my name now rather than some nonsensical rubbish.

Not all my usernames will be changing as some can’t, such as Facebook, and others because I simply don’t want to—one being my Ello account where I managed to snag the username @dominick and we all know how bloody awesome first-name usernames are. Sadly, @dominick on Twitter is taken up by ‘a thug!’.

Anyway, see you around soon enough with my new rebranding which will see a redesigned personal site too because, as much as I love it, I’m not sticking to Ghost’s default theme.
